Late summer on Southwestern Ohio's rivers continues to deliver high-energy action, but today proved that being an angler—and a guide—means staying ready for anything the day throws at you.

Water conditions have held steady, with moderate flows and warm surface temperatures keeping our target species aggressively feeding in primary river structure.

What an Eventful Trip...
After going 2 for 5 on muskies in the morning, the action was already off to a solid start. The early bite was sharp, with fish staging near deep weed lines and swift current edges, striking hard on fast-moving presentations.

However, river guiding always keeps you on your toes. I blew a tire on the way to meet the guys at the river smallmouth spot for their second half of the trip. Major thanks to Union Tire & Auto—they hooked it up and slapped a tire on in minutes for me to carry on and finish out strong on the water. We got right back to business, putting quality fish in the net to close out the day.
